How To Get Ascendant Shards Destiny 2

Playlist Vendors
There are three playlist vendors in the game and they are Zavala, Lord Shaxx, Drifter and there is Banshee-44, who is the weapons vendor. Now, you can earn an Ascendant Shard from each of them by reaching Rank 16 and resetting your rank with that certain vendor and that can only be done once in a season. This resets when the next season starts.
Master Rahool
Ascendant Shards can be bought from Master Raholl as well but for that, you need 50,000 Glimmer, 100 Planetary materials, and 10 Enhancement Prism. This is considered to be quite expensive in the game as the enhancement prisms are not that readily available.
Trials Of Osiris
You can earn Ascendant Shards by resetting your vendor rank with the Trails vendor Saint-14 and just like the other vendors it’s only available once a season. Ascendant Shards can also be earned if you can go to the lighthouse by going flawless in Trials Of Osiris. There is a chance of earning two Ascendant Shards when it’s double-loot week.
War Table
The War Table can be found in H.E.L.M and if you can reach Rank 16, then you get to reset it and earn an Ascendant Shard and it is limited to once per season.
Master & Grandmaster Nightfalls
The Master Nightfalls don’t guarantee Ascendant Shards drop as they are listed as Uncommon in the reward section. But if you were to run Grandmaster Nightfalls then you can earn them with ease they are guaranteed drops and you can receive two Ascendant Shards during Double-loot week.
Dismantling Masterworked Exotic Armors
To masterwork an exotic armor you need three Ascendant Shards and it is a very common practice among Destiny 2 players to masterwork exotic armors and keep them in the vault and when necessary dismantle them.

Augmented Obsession
This is a triumph that takes eight weeks to complete and is also a part of earning the Splintered title in the game. Basically, you need to purchase a Braytech Transponder from Variks and complete all eight objectives to complete the triumph. After completing the triumph go back to Variks and he will provide you with an Ascendant Shard.
Season Pass
You can also earn Ascendant Shards as season pass rewards each season.
